Fuji Heavy Industries has announced that it has developed a new automatic braking management system to stop vehicles and prevent collisions.

The new "EyeSight" automatic braking technology will be installed in redesigned Subaru Legacy vehicles to be released in mid-May.

The new system uses two dedicated cameras installed on both sides of the rearview mirror which can detect cars and other obstacles in front of the vehicle and measure the distance. If the system judges that there is a risk of a collision, an alarm and monitor warning will alert the driver. Furthermore, in case the driver fails to take any action to avoid an accident, the braking system will slow down and stop the vehicle automatically.
